Request account and data deletion
Use this page to request closure of a VITAL account and deletion of associated personal data where applicable. You do not need to sign in, and this page does not trigger automatic deletion.
Need to correct a detail or recover access instead? State that in your request. Deleting an account can remove access to work schedules, on-call duties, communications, and other VITAL operational information.
How to submit your request
- Write from the email address associated with your account, if you can access it.
- Include your full name, VITAL username or email, and the organisation/centre you belong to.
- Say whether you request account closure, data deletion, or both.
- Do not include diagnoses or clinical information in email. If identity verification or scope clarification is needed, we will provide an appropriate channel.
If the link does not work, email juanjo@optimanova.com with the subject VITAL account closure or data deletion request.
What happens next
- We will acknowledge the request and verify the requester’s identity and authority before taking action.
- We generally respond within one month of receiving a verifiable request.
- Where applicable, the account is deactivated and data that no longer needs to be retained is deleted or anonymised.
- If the responsible organisation must retain certain employment or operational information, we will explain the applicable scope before closure.
Data that may be retained temporarily
A deletion request does not mean every record is erased immediately. Audit records, information needed to meet legal obligations or handle claims, and backup copies may remain restricted and access-controlled until the applicable retention period expires or backup rotation completes. Under VITAL’s policy, information from a closed account and audit records may need to be retained for up to five years where a legal, security, or traceability obligation applies.
VITAL does not sell personal data or use this request for advertising purposes.
Help and other rights
You may also request access, correction, objection, restriction, or portability. See the privacy policy or the in-platform version. You may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
